Monitoring report on progress and achievements at five years
The purpose of this report is to monitor the progress and achievements of the Access and Choice programmes over the five-year period from 2019/20 to 2023/24. The report finds that, after five years, the Access and Choice programme has substantially increased access to and choice in services for people seeking help with mild to moderate mental health and addiction needs.
The report provides:
- findings on what was delivered
- impact on people and the mental health and addiction landscape
- recommendations for the programme to achieve its objectives
Selected key findings from the report on the use of Access and Choice services by Māori are included in a Kaupapa Māori primary mental health and addiction services infographic.
In addition, a literature scan that explores approaches to primary mental health care in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally has also been published.
